Post Doctoral Scientist/Engineer

The Energy Dynamics Laboratory (EDL) is seeking a post doctoral candidate with a strong background in wireless energy transfer and inductive power transfer. The person filling this position will be a key team player in the development of a wireless energy transfer system targeted toward stationary and in-motion power transfer for electric vehicles.  This person will work closely with EDL engineers, management, and outside research groups to transfer knowledge from other organizations and develop in-house techniques and hardware resulting in a state of the art wireless energy transfer solution that can enable emerging electric vehicle markets.

Required

·    PhD completed or in completion in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or closely related field

·    Several years experience working with wireless energy transfer

·    Experience with and understanding antennas and inductive power transfer

·    Experience with battery technologies and battery charging techniques

·    Must be willing to work with outside research groups to learn and acquire knowledge and techniques

·    Must be willing to work with EDL engineers and students to support research into related topics

·    Demonstrated strong engineering skills


Desirable

·    Excellent skill in dealing with customers, associates, and staff

·    Excellent communication skills (written, oral presentation)

·    Willingness to market developed energy solutions

·    Willingness to expand experience and research into other energy related areas  

·    Ability to identify funding sources, write proposals, and attract new programs and funding
